Tourism Safety
Brussels is generally a safe city for tourists. However, like any major urban area, it's important to be aware of your surroundings and take precautions, especially in crowded tourist areas and on public transport. Pickpocketing is known to occur in busy areas and so it's wise to be vigilant in public places and follow the advice of local authorities.

Sightseeing Tips and More
Brussels has an efficient public transportation system, including metro, trams, and buses (operated by STIB/MIVB). Consider purchasing a day pass or a multi-day ticket if you plan to use public transport frequently. Walking is also a great way to explore the central areas. Bike rental services like Villo are available. Only use licensed, official taxis.
